Noah is a great “self feeder”! Actually if he can’t feed himself he usually doesn’t want any. He does best with things that can be cut into pieces or are sticky (like oatmeal). Last week for breakfast he really got into his yogurt and I thought it was definitely worth sharing. He enjoyed it quite a bit. Although I’m not sure how much he actually swallowed he (and I) was very proud of himself.
Enjoy!

We took Noah to MyGym today. We hadn’t been in a long time. He ran around and had a good time on the toys. He wasn’t too interested in the group activites though. As usual, he liked the ball pit.
He did have a great time on the swing! This is what we saw …

But I think this how he felt!

Noah was getting a little shaggy in the back but our local kids cuttery charges $17.00 for a haircut – more than what Walter pays. So we decided to take measures into our own hands and cut the back of his hair ourselves. How hard could it be, right? Actually it wasn’t too bad but a squirmy kid always makes for a challenging adventure!
Before… (see the shag over his ear and at the back of his neck? OH, and his awesome shirt!?)

All done!

And here’s what we got. Poor kid, 15 months and that’s all the excess hair he’s got. I don’t think he’ll be costing us much for beauty treatments but college may be a different story!

Boys will be boys, right? A friend of Walter’s said when you have a boy you get a lifetime membership to the ER since you end up there once every few months. Well, last night was our first trip.
Walter went to toss something in our room and didn’t realize Noah was right behind him. When he backed out of the doorway and tried to shut the door he realized he’d just squished Noah’s little hand in the door frame and his middle finger got completely smashed. The poor guy was quite hysterical and bleeding pretty badly. Our pediatrician recommended we get him checked out just to be safe. Luckily nothing was broken and they didn’t have to drain his nail which would have been pretty traumatic. Instead they gave him a bandaid, some stickers and a popsicle and sent us on our way. He was such a trooper (of course the Motrin helped), no one could believe how good his spirits were given how bad the evening had started.
Below are some photos of his adventure (the finger is pretty gnarly)…
All smiles in the waiting room -

Monkey is the patient now and Noah is ready to go (excuse Mom, she’s exhausted!) -
Ouch!

There is nothing Noah loves more than the outdoors! We took Noah to the park during Labor Day weekend to burn some of his energy. Here’s a few photos…
Rosey cheeks and banana face are always a sign that a good time was had!

This weekend Noah threw a party for two of his favorite girlfriends – Sydney and Peyton. They turned one on August 22nd but they were out of town for the big milestone. Now that we’re back from Texas and they’re back from Maryland we decided to have a second celebration with friends.
Syd and Peyton – thanks for letting us be a part of your special day!

Cake!

Mom and dad are so proud!
Of course Noah’s philosophy is to let them ALL eat cake…
Visit…

And smash pinatas!
The girls certainly partied until the bitter end but had a great time.

The rest of the photos can be seen at Noah’s Shutterfly gallery – http://noahthomas.shutterfly.com. Happy birthday ladies!

Dawn and Noah were supposed to be going to San Antonio. Instead, they are now sitting in Austin. As you can see from the flight track above, tropical storm Erin happens to be paying San Antonio a visit as we speak. Nice! Last time she and Noah tried to go to San Antonio, they ended up in Houston! And, it looks like Dean might be paying them a visit too! Greeaaaattt!!

Noah came to work the other day. As you can see, he really made himself at home. He was a good little helper. “Let me show you how its done!” He’s so funny. Oh, yes, my office is a mess.

Ok. I’m trying to rebuild this website in a blog format. I’m trying to learn to use WordPress, but OMG is it complicated. This may take a while.
