Beach Babies!

Wednesday, October 10th, 2007

Walter, Noah, and I went to the beach last weekend to take Ayla’s 18 month photos.  We got there a little early to let Noah run around.  He was sick as a dog and didn’t enjoy it like we hoped he would but that didn’t keep us from taking his photo.  It was also VERY windy and for some odd reason his reaction was to open his mouth every time a gust hit.  That explains the “O” face!

Oh, did I mention we were there for Ayla’s photos?  LOL!  Walter did a great job.  Here are a few of Mom’s favorites…

“Monkey”

Friday, September 14th, 2007

Noah’s best friend is his monkey.  Very creatively, his name is “monkey”.  We picked him up on our first visit to Texas when Noah was 11 months old and they have been inseperable ever since.  If monkey isn’t in Noah’s crib, he’s not going to sleep.  If we let him he would carry him around the house all day – kind of like this…

Notice the love for the paci too!

“Self Feeding”

Wednesday, September 12th, 2007

Noah is a great “self feeder”!  Actually if he can’t feed himself he usually doesn’t want any.  He does best with things that can be cut into pieces or are sticky (like oatmeal).  Last week for breakfast he really got into his yogurt and I thought it was definitely worth sharing.  He enjoyed it quite a bit.  Although I’m not sure how much he actually swallowed he (and I) was very proud of himself.

Enjoy!

Noah’s first haircut!

Tuesday, September 4th, 2007

Noah was getting a little shaggy in the back but our local kids cuttery charges $17.00 for a haircut – more than what Walter pays.  So we decided to take measures into our own hands and cut the back of his hair ourselves.  How hard could it be, right?  Actually it wasn’t too bad but a squirmy kid always makes for a challenging adventure!

Before… (see the shag over his ear and at the back of his neck?  OH, and his awesome shirt!?)

All done!

And here’s what we got.  Poor kid, 15 months and that’s all the excess hair he’s got.  I don’t think he’ll be costing us much for beauty treatments but college may be a different story!

Noah’s First Trip to the ER!

Tuesday, September 4th, 2007

Boys will be boys, right?  A friend of Walter’s said when you have a boy you get a lifetime membership to the ER since you end up there once every few months.  Well, last night was our first trip.

Walter went to toss something in our room and didn’t realize Noah was right behind him.  When he backed out of the doorway and tried to shut the door he realized he’d just squished Noah’s little hand in the door frame and his middle finger got completely smashed.  The poor guy was quite hysterical and bleeding pretty badly.  Our pediatrician recommended we get him checked out just to be safe.  Luckily nothing was broken and they didn’t have to drain his nail which would have been pretty traumatic.  Instead they gave him a bandaid, some stickers and a popsicle and sent us on our way.  He was such a trooper (of course the Motrin helped), no one could believe how good his spirits were given how bad the evening had started.

Below are some photos of his adventure (the finger is pretty gnarly)…

Noah loves the park!

Sunday, September 2nd, 2007

There is nothing Noah loves more than the outdoors!  We took Noah to the park during Labor Day weekend to burn some of his energy.  Here’s a few photos…

Noah throws a party!

Saturday, September 1st, 2007

This weekend Noah threw a party for two of his favorite girlfriends – Sydney and Peyton.  They turned one on August 22nd but they were out of town for the big milestone.  Now that we’re back from Texas and they’re back from Maryland we decided to have a second celebration with friends.

Syd and Peyton – thanks for letting us be a part of your special day!
