There she goes!
I feel like it’s been so long coming… Kate to be a walker. Well, it’s here. She is officially a walker! As of tonight she wants nothing to do with crawling and she’s good too! It’s amazing how quickly she went from cruising and holding on, to taking a step here or there, to walking! People who haven’t seen her in a few days are shocked. It’s really quite incredible! I’m so surprised it took her until she was 14 months to figure it all out, especially since Noah was running by 10 months, but in her own time she’s slowly making her mark on things. She is also an expert climber! More so than Noah ever was and without any fear (can you see my grays?). Last week she climbed onto the toilet, then on top of the tank and maneuvered over to the bathroom counter where she happily played in the sink (after figuring out how to turn on the water). Oy! It looks like we’ll have our hands full with this one too, but happily so. Kate is also the loudest child on the planet! I’m convinced she just likes to hear herself talk.
And because I might find my house egged for posting without a photo…
This photo actually brought up a conversation in our house… one I would like your opinion on, since ours differ – at what age is it no longer ok to take naked photos of your kid? I’m not talking awkward fully naked photos, but something like this, where she doesn’t have on a shirt, because really, what shirt would match a giant tutu? Walter says she’s too old, I say she’s still a baby. Either way I know we’re close but I’d love to hear your thoughts!

I LOVE that picture!!!!!!!!!! And I dont think she is too old for those pics, she for sure has a little more tome for pictures like that. I think because she is a girl, it can start to seem inappropriate, but for now, shes still deliciously cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Go kate!!! The picture is so beautiful! I would say she is still too young for it to be considered inappropriate and I’m still ok with it with mine at 18 months so maybe by 2 years old? I don’t know-I guess only time will tell.
Congrats on your baby girl walking!!! (and climbing too!)

She is so gorgeous! I love that picture – red is certainly her color!
As for what is appropriate or not – she is still considered an infant by many standards so I say its still way okay. My husband, on the other hand, would agree with Walter. He does not even want me bathing Sophie with any of my friend’s little baby boys because its “not right.” I say these daddies are in for some big surprises!

Interestingly enough, I am the only Mom to post here and agree with Walter. I am not at all comfortable with naked or half-naked baby girl shots, even when they are younger than Kate is now in that photo. I think it is ok at maybe 3-6 months or less. To me 6 months even is pushing it. I don’t know why but I have always just been really prudish about it! It’s crazy!! I have desensitized myself from it for the most part for kids under 2 simply because I’m in the photography biz and see it all the time, but it’s just not my thing.
Now… I have seen some people post pics of their little girls 4-6 *years* old just wearing pajama bottoms and no shirt and that’s truly made me feel uncomfortable and like it’s something I shouldn’t be seeing on a public internet site. But to each their own!
